From Outdated Template to Modern Digital Experience: The Walkom Website Transformation

Walkom Real Estate has been a trusted name in Newcastle property for decades, but their previous website no longer reflected the strength of their brand or the expectations of today’s digital-first property market. Built on an ageing template, the site had become difficult to manage, limited in functionality, and unable to support modern integrations or deliver the fast, seamless experience users now expect when searching for property online.

That’s where we came in.

Our goal was to completely reimagine Walkom’s digital presence and bring it into a modern real estate ecosystem—one that not only looks premium, but is built for performance, scalability, and long-term growth. We rebuilt the platform from the ground up using Payload CMS, giving the Walkom team full control over content while maintaining flexibility for future expansion.

To support a fast-moving property market, we implemented a serverless architecture powered by Cloudflare, ensuring the site automatically scales during high-traffic periods such as new listings and campaign launches. This delivers consistently fast load times and a more reliable user experience across all devices.

A key priority was integration with core real estate systems. We implemented a seamless connection with Agentbox, allowing listings and enquiries to flow directly into their CRM without manual intervention. This significantly improves operational efficiency and ensures no lead is lost in the process.

We also integrated REA Reviews, bringing verified client feedback directly into the website experience. This adds an important layer of trust and social proof, helping prospective buyers, sellers, and landlords feel confident when engaging with the Walkom team.

Beyond functionality, the entire experience was redesigned with usability and conversion in mind. The new interface is clean, modern, and mobile-first, making it easier for users to search, browse, and enquire on properties quickly and intuitively.

The result is a future-ready digital platform that moves Walkom away from an outdated template system and into a modern, scalable, and high-performance real estate website—one that reflects the strength of their brand and supports their continued growth in a competitive market.
